2025-26 Committee

Rishi Narla
President
Hi everyone, my name is Rishi. I’m a second-year Economics and Management student and will be your JCR President for the upcoming year. It is my responsibility to oversee the JCR Committee and all JCR events and to represent the views of the college community to the college’s managing bodies, ensuring life at Pembroke is the best it can be for everyone. Pembroke is known as an incredibly welcoming and friendly place and that is something that I can say from experience holds true. It is a brilliant community and I have had such a brilliant time during my first year here, and I hope you all will too.

Joe Colton
Vice President
Hi everyone, my name is Joe and I am currently a first year studying Economics and Management. I will be your JCR Vice-President next year, working alongside Rishi. It will be my role to engage with the student community and to help organise a lot of the events around college, including formal dinners and the fortnightly JCR general meetings. There are so many exciting things on offer at Pembroke and I will do my best to ensure they run as smoothly as possible. I am looking forward to meeting you all

Alex Silverwood-Cope
Secretary
Hello, I'm Alex, a second year English Student. As secretary of the JCR, I will be sending weekly emails to all the JCR which will have important info on upcoming events at Pembroke, as well as recent achievements of the community, sort of acting as a bridge between the committee and the wider JCR. I also am responsible for taking minutes during meetings. I will also be sending lots of links, be that voting for motions or JCR elections or sign-ups for formals and much more (so keep an eye out for emails from me). Feel free to reach out with any questions you have regarding Pembroke or the JCR during your time here. Alternatively come find me around college (I'll probably be in Farthings...)

Ibrahim Jaouadi
Treasurer
Hi, I’m Ibrahim, and I’ll be one of your treasurers for the coming year. I’ll be handling budgeting and battels, so if you’ve got any questions or need any help, feel free to reach out to us.

Oscar Luck
Treasurer
Hi, I'm Oscar, and I am one of the JCR treasurers for the coming year. Alongside Ibrahim, I will oversee student battels, budgeting, reimbursements, and the JCR's expenditure. Feel free to ask any questions or raise any finance/budgeting related concerns.

Grace Greaves
Freshers' President & Wellbeing Rep
Hi, I’m Grace! I study Spanish and Italian and I will be your Freshers’ President and Wellbeing Rep this year. I will be organising events for Freshers’ Week and helping to ensure you have a smooth transition to university. As Wellbeing Rep, I will be part of a team organising welfare activities throughout the year. If you ever need advice or just want to chat, don’t hesitate to reach out. Managing a busy schedule at Oxford can be difficult but we’re here to support you! I will be a friendly face around college, so feel free to stop me for a chat or if you have any questions. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Rosie Bellamy
Wellbeing Rep
Hi, I'm Rosie, a second year medical student! I'll be one of your wellbeing reps this year, running lots of fun events to help you relax and socialise in college. As wellbeing reps we also act as a source of support to help challenges you may face in managing the pressures and commitments of Oxford life. You'll get to know us through fresher's week talks and events - say hi around college or reach out via email with any questions. Looking forward to welcoming you to Pembroke's friendly community!

Guy Denne
Wellbeing Rep
Hi! I'm Guy, a 2nd year English student at Pembroke, and I'll be one of your Wellbeing reps this year! I'll be more than happy to chat about whatever's on your mind - so feel free to come up to me whether I'm running a wellbeing event, just hanging around college, or even when I've got my face in a medieval manuscript in plib :)

Hannah Wiseman
Wellbeing Rep
Hi! I’m Hannah and I’m one of your Wellbeing Reps this year. I am in my 2nd year studying Experimental Psychology and I am just psyched to meet you all! Along with the other lovely reps, I will be running joyous welfare events and activities for you all year (get especially excited for Welfare Weeks in Week 5 of each term!), important workshops in Freshers’ Week and will be there as a friendly face if you ever need to chat. Balancing work and social life has been a huge part of my Oxford experience so far and I have found that prioritising my wellbeing is so crucial in keeping this balance. I would therefore love to help guide you through this too. If you have any questions please feel free reach out! 🩷

Janet Lau
REM Rep
Hey everyone!! I’m Janet, a 2nd year PPEist, and I’m very excited to be your REM (racial and ethnic minorities) rep this year. Being thrust into a completely new culture here at Oxford, especially if you’re from a minority racial, ethnic, or religious background, can be quite challenging. So, if you ever need anything related to your REM background, I’m here to provide support, give advice, or even just a random chat :)
Throughout the year, I’ll be hosting events such as socials and formals themed around different cultures so that, hopefully, you can feel more at home here at Pembroke. Of course, if you have any ideas for things you’d like to see in college, my DMs or non-tute mornings are always open - and I’ll do my best to make it happen for you! Can’t wait to see you all in October :-)

Lennon Airey
Access & Outreach Rep
Hi, I’m Lennon and I’m the Access and Outreach Representative on the JCR. I’m from Sunderland originally and I’m extremely passionate about social mobility. As Access and Outreach Representative, I want to finally make good on the idea that where you come from does not cap your destination, so that Pembroke goes beyond its comfort zone to promote applications from a diverse range of socio-economic backgrounds. This approach is not to tick a box, but to drive up academic standards and to create a Pembroke more reflective of the world around it. Having founded my own organisation, StateElevate, I wish to drive Access and Outreach to the heart of our student-led agenda, so that Pembroke leads the way in Oxford.

Oisin Hart
Disabilities Rep & Art Rep
I'm Oisin, the disability representative on the JCR committee for the next academic year. I was previously disability rep on the 2024-25 committee. The roles of the disability rep include:
1. Representing disabled students on the JCR committee.
2. Advocating for JCR-organised events to be as accessible as possible.
3. Attending Welfare Committee open sessions.
4. Listening to concerns from students and relaying them to other committee members and college authorities where necessary and appropriate.
5. Liaising with other Liberation Committee members who also represent minority groups.
6. Organising disability-themed events if possible, depending on levels of student demand and engagement.
Feel free to email me if you have any queries, concerns or suggestions.

Also, I’m your JCR Art Rep. Pembroke is a great place to get involved in art. During your time at Oxford – whether art is something you want to pursue as a career, a regular hobby, or just a way to wind down after a long day, get creative and meet new people in a relaxed environment.

Scarlet Claydon-Jones
Communications Rep
Hi, I'm Scarlet!! I'm a second-year studying English and Italian, and I'm your Communications Rep! My role is to make sure that you are kept up to date on all the goings-on in the JCR and in college. I am running the JCR social medias this year and I'll be posting advice before you arrive, as well as making and posting the term's event cards weekly! My role also includes making the Freshers' Guide, and the annual Pembroke magazine, 'The Pink Times'. I'm hoping to make a digital termly edition of this and so will be in contact about getting your contributions!

Ben Black
Academic Rep
Hi, I’m Ben, a second-year Maths and Philosophy student, and I’m your Academic Rep for this year. My job is to organise academic support within the Pembroke JCR: managing the subject reps, sitting on the Academic Committee, and putting together a team for University Challenge. I also help run Pembroke’s 3CR talks - student presentations on a wide range of interesting topics - and handle any academic concerns that might come up throughout the year. If you ever want advice on how to handle the Oxford workload, I’m always up for a chat.

Yasmine Tazi
International Rep
Hi Pembroke! My name is Yasmine and I’m a second-year physics and philosophy student from Casablanca, Morocco. I am absolutely thrilled to serve as your international rep for the 2025-2026 year. I'm here to make sure international students are heard on campus and foster a welcoming space that celebrates and respects cultural expression from all. Outside of dusty physics and philosophy textbooks, I love bikes, dogs, books, telescopes, and languages, and you can usually find me in the RSL or trying to pretend like I can play the drums in the Pichette. I'm always happy to chat, (especially if there’s coffee involved). So, whether you have any concerns or just want to say hi, never hesitate to approach me on the paths 💕

Sam Tagg and Laurence Flower

Hello, we’re Sam and Laurence and we will be your JCR Music reps for the year! Laurence
and I are a very friendly duo of second year Music students and are thoroughly involved with
extracurricular music at Pembroke, whether singing in the chapel choir and informal choir or

Pembroke has a range of extracurricular musical opportunities, namely the jazz band,
Pembroke/New College orchestra, informal choir and chapel choir. As Music reps, we hope
to expand the number of ensembles that are available for you all. We hold lunchtime recitals
in college every Tuesday, which offer you all a chance to perform for your friends if you’d
like to. We’re both very passionate about all things music and will happily answer any
questions you have about musical life at Pembroke, so please do get in touch!

Hey, I’m Dawuud, I’m a second-year Philosophy and Spanish student, and I’ll be your Drama Rep this year! Drama is massive at Oxford and can be quite daunting to navigate at first, but I aim to make all you new Pembrokians feel safe to pursue whatever your dramatic hearts desire.

I’m super excited to meet you all and look out for our exciting upcoming ENTZ events!

Harry Morgan
Student Union (SU) Rep
Hi Freshers, I am Harry and will be the Student Union rep for Pembroke JCR 2025-6! As freshers, your main interaction with the Student Union will come in your first week at Freshers Fair, held at Exam Schools, which is organised by the SU. I recommend that you go and sign up your email address to as many societies as possible, including niche interests and quirky sports. You do not then have to go to the society if you change your mind. Beyond that, as SU Rep, I will be taking feedback and ideas from our JCR to the SU through its new Conference of Common Rooms. There has been a lot of change recently to the SU which you may occasionally notice in Cherwell or the Oxford Student (Oxford’s student newspapers), so it will likely be an important time to have an influence, especially as Pembroke has quite a large undergraduate population so it should have a say. I hope I will be able to break down the unknown mystery that is the SU to Pembroke’s students, so we have an idea how others are dealing with issues that affect us as students!

Amy Dodson
Environment Rep
Hi, I’m Amy, a second-year Biologist and I am Pembroke’s Environment rep this year! I will be aiming to make Pembroke as sustainable as possible and working with the college and students to help achieve this. This will involve setting up a sustainability working group that meets with the college to discuss ideas and improvements . Anyone is welcome to join this , and I will be sending out an email at the beginning of term.
I am always open to new ideas on what people want to see put in place or improved, so feel free to approach me if there’s anything you want to discuss. There will be lots of opportunities to get involved in sustainability related events in the JCR where we can discuss new ideas and wider environmental talking points. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and welcome to Pembroke!

Anna Handford
Biodiversity Rep
Hey, I’m Anna! I’m your biodiversity rep for this year. I’m a second year biology student.
At Pembroke, we are very lucky to have the biodiversity site, a plot of land dedicated to biodiversity next to the sports ground. We also have amazing flower beds and window boxes around college curated by our gardener, Richard. As biodiversity rep, I hope to organise and continue to improve biodiversity around college and enhance the wildlife at the biodiversity site, as part of the biodiversity project with the generous grant we have. We have lots of exciting plans including sowing wildflower meadows, bird ringing and bat monitoring, as well as continuing to study and monitor the biodiversity and I hope you will get involved. I believe it to be so important to be outside in nature, and to protect the wonderful wildlife we have in anyway we can. Everyone is welcome to join the team! Please email me if you are keen - I’d love to hear your ideas anna.handford@pmb.ox.ac.uk. I will also send out the WhatsApp Group link, and follow @pembrokebiodiversity for updates!
Additionally, since we have these lovely outdoor spaces which are great for wellbeing, as part of my role I will be organising events in college and at the biodiversity site like arts and crafts afternoons and walks - a nice way to relax for a moment during the busy term! Looking forward to meeting you all :)

Brian Chan
GAB & Living Out Rep
Hi everyone! We’re Brian and Patrick, second-year biochemist and biologist, and your GAB and living out reps for this year. The GAB — short for Geoffrey Arthur Building — is Pembroke’s off-site accommodation, just a 5–10 minute walk from college across the river.
We’ll be living in the GAB ourselves this year, and our role is to support everyone living there or elsewhere off-site. That includes representing your interests, answering any accommodation-related questions, and running short GAB tours in Hilary term. We’ll also be organising some relaxed events in the GAB to make it a more sociable place — things like movie nights, ping pong tournaments, and casual get-togethers.
Since we’ll mostly be based in the GAB, we might not be around main site all the time, but we’re always happy to chat. If you’ve got questions about accommodation, the JCR, or anything else, feel free to contact us or say hi if you spot us around. We're excited to help make the GAB a welcoming, inclusive space that feels fully connected to the rest of Pembroke.

Oliver Butler
IT Rep
Yo, I am Ollie, a 2nd year physicist and IT rep for this year. When I’m not being cooked by physics, I will be keeping the JCR website up to date with all the things you need to find your way through life at the college, and possibly setting up the JCR for the occasional casual games night. If you ever find yourself in a bind with IT or want to get in touch with our IT department, fire an email my way and I would be happy to help sort it out.
